And I always love to see people debunking social media “stuff”. Dad is just finishing up his placement hours for his masters in psychology and over the last few years we’ve have some great discussions about things I’ve seen on Instagram and advice coming from online coaches.
Psychologists need a degree for a reason! And the work they are doing is powerful and needed.
Oi HONESTLY. I had a dream about what I’m gonna do in my masters and lemme tell you it’s DEFINITELY multidisciplinary!!!
I would have LOVED to be a fly on the wall for those convos! I feel like critical thinking is so hot but it’s like we aren’t associating it with socials or our guard is down combined with the “authority” piece and BOOM misinformation feels like truth
The multigenerational and educated conversations are some of the most interesting I reckon. And yesss I was listening to someone talk about this… something like if it sounds true or we’ve heard multiple people say similar things we believe it to be truth. It could’ve been anyone that said it and it can be completely untrue, but there’s something in our brain that goes “ yeah that sounds about right”.
I think there was a term for doing this but I’ve forgotten haha
I LOVE THIS!!!! I get soooo irritated by how oversimplified concepts can get in regular conversation, and this is such a great example! You do a fantastic job breaking down a ton of complex research in a way that is really accessible, useful, and funny. 💖
I also really needed to hear everything in this article, like how my style isn't fixed and to stop trying to control my child's future attachment style through my perfectionistic parenting. 😂
